Radio and TV towers
Solar PV installations
Every kind of tower, be it an observation or radio and TV tower, are exposed to the elements. No building material can withstand these extreme conditions permanently. As a result, waterproofing systems are routinely used on these buildings during refurbishment projects. One aspect that plays a key role when choosing the right material is 'wind suction'. Storms and severe weather conditions have increased in recent years. KEMPEROL bonds fully with the substrate across the entire surface during the curing phase. This full-surface bond eliminates wind suction.
Wind turbines also suffer from a number of weak points that demand sustainable waterproofing. These points include the (expansion) joints and the concrete base. The applied concrete might be water-resistant but joints are subject to various loads and fatigue due to frost/freeze-thaw action. These extreme weather conditions obviously result in cracks and damage to the concrete. Moisture penetrating through the concrete substrate poses a considerable risk to expensive technology.
